Ted Reader: Quickie Griller Recipe #3, Crazy Canuck Maple Leaf Ribs, I have got my rubber gloves on because we are going to get a little bit sticky make it ribs, so love ribs but you know when you are loving slow on smoken ribs they take a long time to do I love them smoke but sometimes I don’t have the time to smoke my ribs so this is an quick and easy way to go and it will be delicious. Fall of the born tender baby back ribs, first thing is first you are going to need a large roasting pan or a couple of foil pans like this and we are going to take 3 gloves of garlic and you can mince it or chop it how ever you want to do it, it doesn’t really matter you just want the flavor at the garlic in there okay.
Jalapeno peppers 2 of them this is going to have a little bit of a kick to this recipe just coarsely chopped nice these rubber gloves that way you don’t hurt yourself later on you know what I am talking about here you go, little onion 1 medium onion chop it its like this, into the foil pan its like that, get it all in there now we are going to take a little, so you can use any which you like crack it open make sure it is good and pour that in, with your onions, garlic and jalapeno. Now we’ve got our baby back ribs these are pork baby back ribs nice and medium maple leaf style all right and you can remove the membrane of the back if you wish but it’s a lot of work sometimes its not too easy to do so, so for just quick and easy take a knife and run it through with the tip and diamond score that membrane so that when you grill these later the membrane just comes right off that’s you want.
Lay out your back so ribs these weights about 1 and a half pounds each you can get them larger, you can get them smaller that’s up to you. I am going to take my better butter burger seasoning and this is like my rub but it ha got butter granules in it, its going to have a little bit of richness to the rib and spread that over the back rub it in so that it tears add about 2 to 3 tablespoons, flip it over. Its great about barbecues you can make a mass when you are outdoors you can do this in the house it is very peculiar. Rub it here we go, rub it in all even get in there. You can do this a day ahead if you want you can do this entire recipe at the ahead and just finish the ribs off on the grill.
We take our foil pan you lay the meat side down, just like this singled cut the jalapeno the onions and the garlic the ribs are rubbed they are scored take a large piece of aluminum foil wrap it up. You can preheat your oven just 325 degrees lets put these in the oven for an hour to an hour and a half. We are going to do our grill its nice and hot turn it down pop them in and let them go. Take these rubber gloves off now that takes about an hour and half. We don’t have all that time because this is a quickie recipe so we already got one done in this grill right here. The bonus of having 2 grills. The temperature of this is nice and low, sparks the steam when you open it up. This will smell the beer, smell the jalapeno a little bit of the spice the onions the garlic and that better butter rub on the ribs.
Just like that. You’ve got your ribs on the grill its time for the Crazy Canuck sauce you can add a lot of different things to that sauce but if you want to keep it nice as simple straight out of the jar Crazy Canuck, only got a big spatula for me there pasting brush etcetera, thank you very much one handled one dip in now that’s painting I am not a painting guy okay I am not a big fan I brush like that so I do this look at that, just nice and easy poured over top, more efficient then you take your brush, spread it out notice the temperature is on low here.
Once you brush that in close the lid and keep a eye on it and let them cook nice and low for above 15 minutes that sauce is going to caramelize and its going to get really, really sticky and then what we done those rib is just going to fall of the bone and its going to be mouth water and very delicious I will tell you. Absolutely succulent ribs that are what you are going to get. Hey, you can see now the ribs get all nice and sticky in that sauce thickens and caramelizes that’s were you get this sweetness to the ribs and the bones look at that this is going to rib right out of there. Give it a little bit of extra sauce and these are ready to come off the grill always little extra raw sauce right at the end raw sauce has all the big flavor. If you are a dry rib kind of person don’t put the sauce up just have a dry rib that will be just as delicious.
And really when you get right down at the needy greedy they should just come right off just like that, look at that clean little bone all meat sticky sauce, moist and tender and succulent I will tell you quick and easy baby back ribs done in less than 2 hours yes that is quick and easy for ribs because you cant do them any faster fall of the bone tender Crazy Canuck Sauce. Get to it and get sticky.
