Hi, this is Michael Callahan, Dr. File Finder and welcome back to our special Butterscotch.com ten part series on what's cool in Windows 7. One of the other cool features in Windows 7 is called Hot Colors. What Hot Colors do is a give you a quick way to know whether a program is open or close.
With the ability to pin program icons to the task bar you have a lot of things open and something that aren’t open that could be awkward trying to tell which is which. Hot Colors take that awkwardness out of there. If I move my cursor across you see when I get right here to Windows Media Player you could see the color shift to an orange because Windows Media Player is open. If I go to Note Pad there's nothing but if I go to Windows Media Center it shows a green color because it’s also open, right there.
So Hot Color easy and quick easy way to move your mouse across and see which programs is open and which are close. It makes it easy to close things that you don’t want open there open things that you don’t want to close. Keep in mind that this is multiple parts series and be sure to watch all 10 parts.
