What is the difference between a conventional household cleaner like Windex or 409 versus a Green Seal certified product or one they claims to be a green product? Find out in this week's episode of Fit Life.

How many times you've been on the cleaning products oil and you are just looking for that one product that would get the job done? In reality, they would probably all a decent job. So, that leaves us with the question of which is safest for you, your family and the environment.

A lot of product were tested on animals and most are not biodegradable which means they are going to be run long after you are gone. So, the alternative is to use green cleaners. But, wait don't they cost more? And I heard they don't clean as well.

What is green any how? Let's find out right now. Being green, basically means not hurting mother nature before, during or after a life of a product. Now, I must used spend hours of researching everything you purchase. Whether it's a car, clothes or even just household cleaners. There is just no way to be sure.

Now, I am sure there are lot more sites out there. But, this one will get you started.

Now, back to our cleaners. Alright, so I have a mess here. Let's clean it up. I am going to use a conventional cleaner and then also my green cleaner. Let's get the rest of those out of the way. Alright, what do we have here ? We have some raspberries, some egg-white and some sugar that's been sitting here for a few hours. If you know anything about egg-whites and sugar, you know this isn't in a hurry to go away. Well, let's clean up, see which one works better.

Alright, well that's was simple enough. They both cleaned up the mess. Let's clean. So, today we are cleaning and it works in the kitchen. So, now we are in the boy's bathroom. As you can see, they have got some toothpaste on the mirror. How did they get into two perfect circles? So, as you sees they are all priced about the same and even if they are different we are looking at just a few pennies.

They both did a great job of cleaning and the green products are non-toxic, biodegradable, naturally dried and never test on animals. So, why wouldn't I always use green products. Alright, let's make some Granola. First things first, we want to preheat our oven to 300 degrees.

While that get started over medium heat we are going to add 1 tablespoon of water and 1/3 cup of honey. You're just going to let this simmer for 2 or 3 minutes, really let that honey loosen up. While we wait on that we are going to start with our dry ingredients.

Here we have two cups of oats. This is old fashioned, not quick oats, a half cup of wheatgerm, few tablespoons of sugar, a fourth teaspoon of salt just a little bit there, and then also you are going to add one cup of your own ingredients. Here, I've got a half cup of both walnuts and almonds which I am going to add now. My other half cup of ingredients is raisins and cranberries. We are going to add those later. Because we don't want them to dry out, any drier than they already are. We are starting to simmer, let's go. Alright, our honey is all loosened up over here. So I am going to turn off our burner and add this to our dry mix.

It smell so good. Alright. Now we are going to mix this altogether. Alright, you are going to use a regular cookie sheet coat it with pan. Then, take our mix and spread it out on here and put it in. Now, that was 15 minutes. We've got another 15 minutes to go, but before that we are going to add our raisins and our cranberries, mix it all up.

Alright, another 15 minutes at 300 degrees and this will be ready to go. It looks and smells so good. We are just going to let this cool before we bag it up. Now, this was total of 25-30 minutes on 300 degrees.

We know exactly what's in it. It cost less than it did in the store. There is a million things you could with it. It's perfect. Well, that's it for this week.
