We’re going to be making a coconut flavored Caiprinha. All you need is coconut-flavored rum, limes, simple syrup, a muddler, sour mix and soda water.
You add five or six limes, depending on how much lime juice you want to get out of it. And then you take your simple syrup. It's one cup of water and one cup of sugar added together into a pot that's boiling and then you just let the sugar dissolve within the water. And what you get is a sugar-based water. So then you add your simple syrup to your limes, not too much because you'll really make the drink sweet because the coconut-flavored rum is going to be sweet anyways.
So you want to add about three tablespoons. The next you're going to use is a muddler. You don’t have to have a muddler like this. You can use like a wooden spoon at home or anything that’s going to crush up the limes in the bottom of this mixer.
Now, all you do is you take your muddler and you just press down on the limes. Turn it in order to get the juices to come out. That’s pretty much. You have like a muddled concoction of sugar, water and limes. Then, coconut-flavored rum and you do a three count, one, two and three.
The next thing you want to do is now you add the ice which is going to chill the rum and chill the drink. You're going to add some soda water to it, a little over a splash of soda water. So then you can add some sour mix to it. Place it with a splash of sour mix. Get your rocks glass that you're actually going to be using for the drink itself and you turn that over on top of the mixer and you shake it. Turn your glass over. And then after you shake it, you basically just pour the whole drink into the cup, limes are off. And that is a coconut-flavored Caiprinha.
