(Image: Fox News ) BY JASMINE BAILEY U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton faced the Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday— making it clear she takes responsibility for the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya.   CNN:  “ As I have said many times since September 11, I take responsibility.  Nobody is more committed to getting this right.  I am determined to leave the State Department and our country safer, stronger, and more secure.” And the Secretary of State even got a little emotional when describing the attack. ABC:   “ I stood next to President Obama as the Marines carried those flag-draped caskets off the plane at Andrews. I put my arms around the mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers.” But her solemn sentiment didn’t last for long— when Republican Senator Ron Johnson accused the White House of misleading the administration, she became angry. C-SPAN3:   “ We had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or because of guys out for a walk one night and decided to go kill some Americans? At this point what difference does it make?” But John McCain expressed that he was not satisfied with that answer. Saying... Fox News:   “I categorically reject your answer to Senator Johnson...The American people deserve to know answer and they certainly don’t deserve false answers.” And Fox News reports — The secretary continued to take heat from Republicans as the hearing proceeded. Senator  Rand Paul, said that if he were president, "I would have relieved you from your post." He suggested lives could have been saved if she were more involved in reviewing security requests. And although Clinton is taking a lot of heat because of the handing of the attack— a writer for the National Journal doesn’t think this scandal will have much effect on her career.   “...she became bulletproof, like her husband. At a certain point you’re like Keanu Reeves in The Matrix , just letting them bounce off you. Perhaps if Clinton wasn’t on her way out of office, the debacle might have damaged her more.”
