A new Chinese car is controlled by a remote control.

The Chinese automaker BYD is making quite a splash with their new car that can actually move by a remote control. The car hit the Beijing buyer’s market in August of this year.

The model, dubbed the Su Rui, utilizes technology, which “allows many vehicle functions to be performed remotely only by a key. Within a certain range and with the controller in his or her hands, the driver can make the car start, move forward and back, turn left and right, and travel at a restricted speed all by itself, without even being in the vehicle.”

According to reports, the vehicle can be moved from a distance of 30 feet, traveling a little over 1 mile per hour in remote mode. Buyers in China can currently expect to shell out $10,000 to $15,000 on the model.

The remote control mode may make a convenient alternative for parking in tight spots or having your own curbside pick up in nasty weather. What do you think of this new vehicle?
