(Image Source: Cleveland.com ) BY BRIAN BONDUS ANCHOR LOGAN TITTLE The Chicago Bears hired a new head coach. His name is Marc Trestman and he comes from the Canadian Football League. In five seasons with the Montreal Alouettes he’s led the team to two championships and three appearances in the Grey Cup. The equivalent to the Super Bowl.  He was also named coach of the year in 2009. Trestman has had many different assistant coaching positions in the NFL in the past but his speciality is quarterbacking, a position he played in college. Chicago Tribune contributor Steve Rosenbloom warns Chicago’s quarterback Jay Cutler that school is back in session.   “Jay Cutler your classroom is ready. Mechanics 101, emotional approach 200, and mental approach 300. Those are your classes for the offseason. Get it right.” As Oakland’s offensive coordinator his offense lead the league in yards per game — almost 400. And the team reached the Super Bowl in 2001. Rich Gannon quarterbacked that team and got the MVP award that season. On Chicago radio Gannon said Trestman will help Cutler. “He is a terrific play caller and he’s innovative. He’s aggressive and at the same time he’s going to take care of the quarterback and that’s what Jay Cutler needs.” Coming from the CFL to the NFL is not unprecedented.  Hall of Fame coaches Marv Levy and Bud Grant did it and both endorsed Trestman while he was interviewing for head coaching positions. Marv Levy praised Trestman in an interview with the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “The same things that win in the U.S. win up there... It’s still about fundamentals and teaching... I think he’d make a darn good NFL coach.” Da Bears will have a press conference Thursday to formally announce Trestman as the head coach at 11 .am. Eastern time.
