Caudalie Spa in New York – Vinotherapie

Mary Blackmon: A Monday in New York City, it’s Plaza Hotel.

Hello, how are you?

Regine Berthelot: Hello, good thank you. We’ve been here for years. We have a Spa in Paris in the side one in [Foreign Language] the South of France and one in Spain.

Vinotherapy was created by Caudalie to actually use the products of the great and the vine. Caudalie’s Skin Careline is actually a line based on the polyprenols. The polyprenols help as free radical to protect the skin. We use grapes in most treatments of great products or a product to raise the grapes.

Mary Blackmon: They found so intriguing I would love to see the spa.

Regine Berthelot: Caudalie is actually a very natural company but also very effective so polyphenol is actually the great scene extract and it’s used to protect the skin. Then you have resveratrol which is found in the grape stock and it’s used to firm the skin and then you have Viniferine which comes from the grape sac and it’s used to lighten brighten the skin. In France every 20 second resveratrol light cream and salt.

Mary Blackmon: I have to meet a grape wherever we go. How you incorporating Vinotherapy into the Caudalie?

Regine Berthelot: Right we actually have a lot of nature elegance and the core we have a wood, stone, a tile, and we have grape vine in it too so we actually have them all. Beautiful sculptures.

This is the refreshing massage and a Vichy Shower.

Mary Blackmon: What else is involved in this?

Regine Berthelot: So we have a warm shower going on the body and then we have essential oils massage into the skin to help to nourish the skin. So this is our French Paradox we choose actually the area where lights come and relax. These walls are actually the original walls from the Plaza Hotel.

Mary Blackmon: You’re kidding. It’s very unique to make a Sommelier at the Spa. What made you want to be a part of this?

Clifford Rames: Well my first year about the concept is the wine and healthy living it just fit with my own philosophy that wine is good for you.

Mary Blackmon: Do you use the wine from the Caudalie of line?

Clifford Rames: We use the wine from the Chateav Smith Havt Lafitte which is a property owned by the family that found it Caudalie. It is a ground crew vineyard and Bordeaux French. So four of this delicious wine are I guess love it and I work with the Spider to insure that our guest leave here feeling very happy and pampered and part of that experience is that after their treatment when they’re all relaxed and glowing with the after effects of Vinotherapy they come into our land lounge and they can have a little conference glass of wine. I serve in the wine and it’s a little bit about our property and we know about the different wine and our collection and so not only do they leave feeling healthy and more relax them and live feeling smarter because I learned something about wine.

Mary Blackmon: Now you know that you don’t have to go to France to experience the benefits of a world class winery. But you know take a tip from me. Sometimes aging is a good thing.
