Using the Manual Mode on the camera is really very, very simple.
First, turn you mode dial to M for Manual. What the Manual Mode allows you to do is set both the shutter speed and the aperture to whatever you want.
Now, it is not going to give you Exposure Compensation because you do that by setting the shutter speed on the aperture but what it will give you here is your metering so, when you press the Shutter button halfway, you will see where the meter is indicating that right now I am a little bit overexposed. So, if I change my shutter speed, now I am just a little bit underexposed.
By default, it’s the shutter speed that is going to be adjusted when you turn the dial on the camera. The dial is located right here next to the Shutter button. Just turn the dial in order to adjust that setting.
To adjust the aperture, just press the AV button right here, hold that down and turn the dial. Everything else in the camera is set up just as it would be in any other mode. Just remember in the Manual Mode, turn the dial to set the shutter speed, press the AV button and turn the dial to set the aperture.
