A man is arrested for breaking into cars after footprints in the snow lead officers to his house. It’s probably not a good idea to commit a crime and leave the scene on foot….especially when there’s snow on the ground.Recently, police in Idaho Falls began looking into suspicious footprints in the snow. The shoe tracks appeared to go from vehicle to vehicle in a neighborhood. Officers followed these same tracks which led to a nearby home. At the house, they found 20-year-old Cade Thomas Dixon, who was soon arrested.Dixon had allegedly attempted to break into more than 100 cars, however most of them were locked. He managed to gain entry into two vehicles where he obtained a some cash and a GPS unit.Dixon isn’t the only thief who got busted due to his escape method. Earlier this year, 38-year old Thomas Molina was charged with burglary after he was caught breaking into Central New Mexico Community College.As per the police reports, Molina was going after computer hardware. When the cops got to the scene, he attempted to run away but 'got caught in the blinds'.
