Lovers of bacon — this one’s for you: Burger King is about to launch its new bacon sundae: vanilla, fudge, caramel... and bacon.

It’s part of the chain’s summer menu — just in time for bikini season!

Local TV anchors had a lot of fun with the news.

WHYY : “Can I mark you down for one? No. … The whole thing together is kinda weird.”

NECN : “I dunno. It sounds like it might taste okay. I’d probably give it a try.”

WUSA : “...clocks in at 510 calories, 18 grams of fat and 61-grams of sugar. i will note, if you're buying sundae, should you be worrying about that?”

You might remember, BK launched a “hea lthy” menu earlier this year , complete with Ceasar saladas, smoothies and wraps.

… Which has CNN’s Erin Burnett scratching her head. Then again, she concludes...

“Maybe the bottom line is people want what they want. They want bacon flavored sundaes. ... Mayor Bloomberg would get so hot about this he would ban Burger King. Maybe there's another solution. You want bacon sundaes, fine, you you pay higher health insurance premiums.”

The salty-sweet sundae, along with the rest of the summer menu, goes on sale through early September.
