Male: Award winning architect, James Wright started a play space in his own backyard.
James: The idea was to create like a play land so that we create vacation at home.
Male: But his busy schedule left him little time to finish the project.
James: Right now the yard feels incomplete and it’s missing these finishing touches.
Male: The backyard is vast. The size of a football field. It already has a playhouse, trampolines, brick patio and even a guest house.
Female: We need some elements to draw kids and people into the spaces.
Male: Their daughter already has a playhouse but their son Shane is hoping for a skate ramp because he’s on his way going pro. When we started James and – backyard was unfinished and lacked cohesive style. Even though it was massive, it had no defined areas for the super active family to enjoy. We transformed it into a personal family theme park with a place for romance and relaxation, a place for a stroll, a place for a picnic and a place for ultimate play.
Male: This ramp is so awesome, it’s just a blessing, it’s so good. My parents did this for me. It’s just great.
Female: I like the zip line, it feel like sewing.
Male: The brick path, I actually love it because of its shape and it’s very simple and it lures people to want to travel up this beautiful simple curved path.
Female: I like the fact that my teenagers will want to still be here. I have one but he’s got a lot of friends. I like it when they’re at our house and at the same time we’ve got lots of fun things for my younger daughter too so I like having a gathering place.
Male: Low maintenance plants provide year round color and frame the path, patio, playground and massive play lawn.
Male: What’s really fun is to hear the laughing of the kids, the noise and all this visual activity. It’s a beautiful landscape and when you fill that with kids running everywhere, that’s just bliss.
