Broken Down Golf Cart Cocktail Recipe
Welcome to the Sunday Night Shooters edition of Common Man Cocktails. I’m your host Derrick Schommer.
Today, we are going to create the Broken Down Golf Cart. Yes that is a recipe, you could Google it if you don’t believe me. This recipe is submitted by fan of Kung fu which is a— Fan Kung fu, sorry, it’s a name on YouTube and I believe if I check the profile correctly and the name is really John. So John, Fan Kung fu this one is for you.
It’s is going to be an Amaretto episode. So obviously, that I’m a Amaretto fan. ½ ounce of Amaretto since this is a shooter, it’s going to be a small. Half ounce of Midori. I haven’t had this, that sounds crazy and a dash of lime juice. So my dash of lime juice is— I’m going to squeeze that sucker over the mix and that’s it. Were going to shake it and were going to strain it with shot glass, were going to drink it and were going to see how is going to taste.
Amaretto, of kind of that nuttiness — people have ask me, what does it taste and smell like.
I, for some reason, first impression I always get is red licorice. I don’t know why. But it’s definitely got like of red, I don’t it like of red nut or like almost like something you could put in a coffee but sweeter, if that make you of sense.
So, we’re going to do is a ½ ounce of each. So it’s going to be small but we’re going to shake it anyway because its just got the juices in there and there you go.
This is our Disaronno Amaretto, we’ve been using a lot of Amaretto lately.
Just a little juice in there and it just the dash, good. Shake it up with ice because that’s part of the fun. And throw that there, shake it up. That’s pretty cold now. And let me go strain that into our shot glass and give this as shot, literally. There’s a little extra in there.
So, right off the bottle, its look like a crazy like of Midori drink. Oh, he’s dangerous, you could see a little of the juice floating around in there. So let’s get that sniff. No, doesn’t really have a lot of smell, a little bit of little Midori in there.
That is weird because both have the sweetness and your going to get and predominantly sweet drink. That’s crazy. We missed it but really I’m getting the Amaretto first, really a good sense of Amaretto followed by the Midori. It didn’t really mix like I thought it would. Well, I guess maybe your taste buds can separate them both as you going down, not very sour. So it just a little amount of sour probably just too really bring them together. I’m not chemist to create a drink and so I don’t know but overall, I was afraid. I thought it was going to have that kind of taste of little distorted to their funny or whatever but it worked well together because it almost wasn’t together even though at least it mixed in the drink.
Can somebody pick it out? I would say if you gave this shot to somebody and have them pick the alcohols, somebody who is an Amaretto fan definitely will taste that Amaretto and maybe even catch the Midori at the end. Maybe just the color in general gets the Amaretto. I think it looks of very much like of Midori style drink.
Definitely pretty good, definitely want to check this out at everydaydrinkers.tv. I’m your host Derrick Schomer and we’re teaching you how to drink.
