Richard Meredith: Well, what’s happening in Asia? It’s particularly evident by the
Asian highway is of course, the Asian economies are now rising,
rising very quickly which means of course, more people are
driving, more people are buying cars than ever before and there’s
awful lot of people in Asia.

Many of them are now driving for the first time, so the number of
accidents is also rising horrendously, quickly which in turn this
number of deaths is rising horrendously, quickly. What we were
trying to do is to bring messages to the people of Asia’s who went
through. Look, in the west we’ve learned over many years if you
put a seatbelt on, you stand a better chance of living in a crash than
not.

This car attracts attention wherever it goes, no doubt about it.
You’re in deepest Turkmenistan or some go for second place. They
know James Bond. They know this car. They’ve never seen one
before as today, you know in the flesh and many of the country we
went through, they’d never seen an Aston Martin.

However, huge attention wherever we went which has given us the
opportunity to raise these questions and issues about road safety
and that has become one of the focal points of this whole trip.

I have worked for Aston Martin because I got no reason to
elaborate or lay out but it was just fantastic. I mean never let us
down once. Now, the ranges of conditions that it had to go through
cover the whole damage. We were driving in temperatures of 45°,
for much of the times through desserts. If we you will want him to
do that journey, you would not perhaps think of doing it in an
Aston Martin. You would want to do it in a four-by-four or
something like that and yeah, this thing has come through at the
end of the day what without a scratch but nevertheless done
fantastically well.

Dr. Urich Bez: They have two things, the one is that we have a car which can go
into car and could drive wherever they want to drive and the
second is of course is this activity with the road safety. I think in
the last months, we have so much stress, long term environment
issue. If we do just forget that there is a short term issue of what
we can do and especially road safety in undeveloped countries. We
now walk around the car if I look at the engineer, I listen to the
engine, I can hear at this moment anything strange or can see
anything strange and as they had no service car with him, nobody
if you read about either driving in China on the roads, then they
have three Land Rovers behind them and in front of them and the
spare car with them and so this people, they had nothing, maybe on
trust alone.
