The accidental death of a 10-year-old Bellingham, Washington boy has stunned family and friends.

 

Caleb Kors died in an accidental hanging, though details remain murky. 

 

The LA Times reports Caleb was a circus fan who delighted local farmers market visitors with magic tricks and acrobatics.

 

When the news of the tragic accident broke, initial reports said young Caleb - or Flip as he’s called - died doing a circus trick.  Though actual circumstances of his death and how it happened are still unclear. 

 

Seattle’s KING-TV reports -- the local community is shocked by the tragedy.

 

“He was good at being a monkey. Getting into stuff. He's the kind of kid that would light up your life. ... He had a natural talent and aspiring performer and student of the circus gild.”

 

According to the Whatcom County sheriff’s office -- Caleb was put on life support for 24 hours -- but he didn’t survive the mysterious tragedy. KOMO has more.

 

FRIEND: “He could read people in the way many adult performers I know still are learning.”

REPORTER: “Friends hope to start an arts scholarship in Caleb's name, even a circus show.”

 

According to KOMO-TV, grief counselors are at Caleb’s school helping students and faculty cope with their loss. 

 

And a Facebook page created in his name helps friends, family and fans share condolences and point those wishing to donate to the family in the right direction.
