BANNER READING 'STEVE GO HOME' STORY: Willem II scored a late winner on Saturday (February 16) to earn a draw 1-1 at Twente who failed to win their fifth consecutive match in the Dutch league. Twente, who started the match in fourth place, had most of the early possession but struggled to find the target against bottom of the table Willem II. Luc Castaignos collected a good pass from Douglas and forced a save from Willem goalkeeper David Meul in the 23rd minute and Swedish defender Rasmus Bengtsson sent a header over the crossbar in the 33rd minute. Twente increased the pressure and finally broke the deadlock near the end of the first half. William keeper Meal blocked Bengtsson's effort following a corner but Brama managed to loop a cross into the path of Leroy Fer whose headed was followed up by Brazilian-born turned Dutch Douglas who scored in the 43rd minute. Willem's 19 year-old Virgil Misidjan tested Twente Bulgarian goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov 10 minutes after the break and the visitors just escaped from scoring an own goal when German defender Philipp Haastrup hit the post while trying to clear a cross from Fer. Twente's Robert Schilder crashed a shot against the bar after a good move by Chilean midfielder Felipe Gutierrez. But Willem kept the best for last, Ricardo Ippel, firing an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net. The home draw conceded at the last minute led Twente expressed their discontent with their British coach Steve McClaren who is having a second spell at the club after winning the Dutch title with them in 2010. The 1-1 draw left Twente in fourth place, tied on 44 points with second place Ajax and third Feyenoord.
