But now, all Dreamliners have been grounded. And, as trouble continues for Boeing’s $32 billion experiment in aviation, the stories continue as well. First, the " News Journal " takes a step back to detail the history on the Dreamliner’s development – including name changes and the controversial decision to share production costs with suppliers. The bottom line? “The issue for Boeing is that the current struggles solidify the existing narrative about the Dreamliner, which has been troubled for years.” Reports on the Dreamliner have focused on what appear to have been problems with its rechargeable lithium ion-batteries. Fox News offers insights into the latest National Transportation Safety Board report, which ruled out excess voltage as the cause. Nonetheless: “Officials say there is no other way to make these planes air worthy without improving these specific batteries.” No matter how bleak things seem right now for Boeing, " The Guardian " offers an optimistic report on the Dreamliner – particularly its fuel efficiency. “. . .perhaps more than any other plane, it has come to represent the technological innovation that the aviation industry claims will allow it to meet its wider obligations to the world.”
