Well, it’s just the same thing. I’m just using my second finger and my thumb here.
[Demonstration]
I find that the second finger makes a little bit easier for me to pull off and execute all of these licks. And once again the thumb rig has a big thing to do with it.
[Demonstration]
Break in the thumb hard.
[Demonstration]
The rest just have one position.
[Demonstration]
Dig it in hard with that second finger.
[Demonstration]
The real thing about that sound cool when you slide up and down.
[Demonstration]
So you have that types of licks and this really sound awesome when you’re using the blues scale. It’s always the pentatonic scale and then combining the blues note in the major third and then the sixth note which I set again with a 9th fret of G string to get all this for Freddy King’s style.
[Demonstration]
That little there, I add just a passing note.
[Demonstration]
6th, 9th and 8th.
[Demonstration]
We’ll adjust your seven.
[Demonstration]
It’s kind of like repeating that, just like that.
[Demonstration]
So that is just getting control of hitting each string in the middle, I've come mute and going back and forth like I said. I use my second finger a lot.
[Demonstration]
And once again, take that thumb and you just like slide guitar. You take that thumb. You do all the strings except your high E string.
[Demonstration]
And once again I’m muting all the bottom strings.
[Demonstration]
So it’s the coolest thing to do just to add those three notes to the pentatonic scale and then use your hands because you get a totally different style. We’re going to change rhythms and pick ups and if you love taking pick, hold it like that in between your thumb in your first finger and you got that.
[Demonstration]
I’ll take that sucker and move it, when you hold it like that and move it down like in to your first finger like that. So now if you use a small pick like that it enables you to hold it here so you can hold the things. So it’s between them.
[Demonstration]
Switch.
[Demonstration]
So you see how easily you can switch with doing that pick.
[Demonstration]
Hold it like that in between those two fingers if you could see that, kind of like that so play it.
[Demonstration]
I’ll play a little bit, change it up.
[Demonstration] Alright, and that is it for this guitar video lesson about blues guitar and using your fingers to play some cool licks and a few notes to the pentatonic scale. So I hope you get some of this, if you have any questions or want some more information about playing blues guitars, slide guitar or guitar in general, you can email me at info@learningguitarnow.com and once again visit the website if you haven’t already hit at learningguitarnow.com and we’ll see you next time.
