Hey I'm Shawn from Sprinkler Daddy and I'm here today to talk to you about a cool new line that we’re carrying for this year2010. It’s called Block Lock Pipe and Fittings by Hydro Rain. We’re carrying the whole Hydro Rain line for the most part this year and that’s something that’s really changing up the industry quite a bit. So I just wanted to give you a quick sneak peak of what makes this stuff so different and so exciting.
So the first thing you’ll notice is that the pipe is blue. It’s not black, it’s not like poly; it’s not white like PBC; it’s blue. It functions kind of like a poly pipe because it’s a little bit rigid and—or it’s not quite as rigid as PBC’s so you can bend it.
But what really makes this stuff special and it’s really going to make your installation a whole lot easier is the fitting that come with it. So basically how this fittings work differently from the fittings that you’re used to is everything in the irrigation industry has been insert fitting. So everything goes inside the pipe instead of on the outside.
Well, this blue lock stuff goes on the outside of the pipe which makes it a heck of a lot easier to install.
I would just give you a little close-up of the fitting here. As you can see, kind of in there, there are some metal teeth inside of the fittings that when you insert the pipe into the fitting, those teeth grab on and hold the connection for you. So it’s super easy to do.
This way you just take a piece of pipe here; you got your fitting here; you push it in; and then that’s tight.
This fitting that I put on here—you can put a nipple into and straw on any sprinkler that you want. They do have their own spray heads. They’re not getting into rotors just yet, but we will be carrying their spray heads as well.
And as far as this sprinklers go, you can also swing joints. So a lot of them come with the ability to put pipe in here and this little black thing’s actually lets you take the pipe out as well. So you can just go like that; it’s locked in there. If you just pull on the black piece here, you should be able to get it a part.
I might’ve done this few too many times so I’ve might not be able to get a part right now but that’s a possibility. So what you can do is just run your pipe to your fitting and then for each—you’re mainline, to your fitting; to a swing joint for whatever—wherever you need to have your sprinklers.
So then at the end have your sprinkler line—you just plug on your sprinkler and you’re done. It’s that easy; I'm going to be doing a whole bunch more videos on using Blue Lock and Hydro Rain line, but I just want to let you know about this really exciting change in the irrigation industry that sprinkler that is jumping on board with.
So we’ll talk to you soon with more on Blue Lock from Hydro Rain
