Best Dresses of the Oscars
The Oscars are upon us but after all the awards are handed out, it will be the dresses that get all the headlines. So, here’s a look at our top looks in the previous Academy awards. In 2009, Penelope Cruz channeled her inner princess in this 1950’s vintage strapless gown. Embellished with sparkles and lace, it turned the red carpet into a royal reception. Halle Berry looks stunning at this 77th Academy awards in this sleek, silver, multi texture dress that hugged her curves in all the right places.
Jennifer Garner brightened up the red carpet in 2004 the vibrant orange is about daring and gorgeous bringing the much needed splash of color to the red carpet. In 2009, Kate Winslet wore this gun metal gray, one shoulder gown with a lace overlaid that like the actress is both understated and glamorous.
Cate Blanchett wasn’t just winning from her Oscar win at 2005. The yellow Valentino gown with burgundy accent at least deserves part of the credit. Angelina Jolie has been described as a Goddess in 2004. She wore a dress that was fit for one. The white satin 1930’s inspired halter dress just oozes sex appeal and the v-neck flashes just the right amount of skin.
But the top award goes Hillary Swank. In 2005, the red carpet came to a stand still when the Million Dollar Baby star stepped out in this dark navy creation that not only showed off her amazing figure. But the plunging back kept tongue swaging for weeks. We can’t wait to see at any of the 2010 leading ladies can earn a place on our list.
