Hi! This is Mike Callahan Dr. File Finder. Welcome to part two of our special butterscotch.com ten part series on Adium. Now, in this segment I’m going to look at adding contacts to Adium. And in Adium the first thing you want to do before you could add contacts is you have to add networks. As you can see here, Adium does support a huge range of instant messaging networks AOL, Jabra, MSN, Yahoo, Bonjour, Facebook, Google talk, ICQ and many more.
So I’ll going to add MSN messenger which is now, Windows Live, so I typed in my account information and it is important to remember that you have to have an account on this different messaging services in order to add them to Adium. You can just get Adium and add yourself to MSN or Google or Yahoo. So now, if I look under accounts, I have my MSN account there and I can just connect to anyone that I want. For contacts, I can add a contact. Let’s say AOL instant messenger, screen name; babyface, Alias, I’ll put them in the group buddies and I’ll say add.
Now you see they go into my list and it’s waiting for approval, and when they’ve approved it then we’ll be able to talk back and forth. So I have contacts that are on Google talk, Yahoo, ICQ and now I’m connecting with somebody and aim through Windows Live.
So this is Adium and Adium accounts and contacts so that concludes part two.
