It's another DIY network, BATHtastic! quick tip. Looking to give your bland boring tub a little personality? Cover it up with the custom built tub deck. It'll give your generic looking tub instant style.
Natural quartz is an ideal choice and it's a nonporous material that's both scratch and stain resistant. Once you've got the tub deck in place, you'll need to do something to cover up the front.
For about 100 bucks, you can build a wood tub front. You just need some basic carpentry skills. And if you're looking the same few bucks, use a cheaper wood like maple and have a stain custom-made to match your woodwork.
Since it's going in a bathroom, make sure to seal the wood with several coats of polyurethane. A little construction adhesive to hold it together and plenty of clod to seal the edges, and now you got a brand-new look. How easy was that?
