At least 100 others were wounded. One bomb exploded here, a few hundred metres from Baghdad's international zone, close to the Iraqi Foreign Ministry. That blast killed four and wounded 12, sources said. Here in the capital's eastern Baladiyat district, a car bomb exploded near a traffic police station, killing five people and wounding 17. An eye witness said living near government buildings put citizens at risk. (SOUNDBITE) ( ARABIC) UNIDENTIFIED EYEWITNESS, SAYING: "Many people were killed and wounded, it is unacceptable that a government office be among houses. There is no security and militants are able to hit any target." Iraq is experiencing some of its worst violence since U.S. troops left 18 months ago, with Sunni Islamist militants including al-Qaeda waging an insurgency against the Shi'ite-led government. Multiple car bombs each week are killing scores of people and the government has launched a security crackdown to try to round up suspected militants. Over 4,000 people have died so far this year.
