aSleep is another ambient sound application for the iPhone that allows you to do a lot more functions than any of the other ones do. You can turn the volume up or down directly from the application itself and it has a cool timer function. Now, this timer function will let you set the hours and minutes that you wanted it to run. And then from there, you can go and select the sound.
There are plenty of different sounds, ones ranging from category such as nature, life, noise instrument, and then general sounds. There are really honestly a lot of great sounds on here. Not all of them are something that you are going to be able to fall asleep to, but they are definitely sounds that might ease you or might scare the crap out of you. Pick a sound. Play it. See how you like it. See if it sounds like something you want to listen to. Then close out the other application, it will continue to play. You can stop it right from there. Turn the volume up or down from there. And then you set the timer to as many hours and minutes as you want. You can set the timers. Stop the timer at your leisure. Great application if you really are a fan of ambient sound. It gives you a lot more options than the other ambient sound applications. But again, this is not an app for everybody.
