April Fools Steak Recipe

Cook on Sunday, eat until Thursday. I'm Allie and you're watching Economy Bites. So today on Economy Bites, we’re making steak. I’ve been wanting to make steak for a really long time on the show and I finally found a simple and affordable way to do it. So let’s go to the grocery store.

It shouldn’t be even part of the necessity. This is so easy and this is my favorite aisle for at home cookie, my frozen food section. This not only costs just $6.00 and that’s going to last like six days. That’s a dollar a day.

So when I’ve got at the grocery store are some great all-American steaks. They came in this nice, little package. It’s so easy to use. So what I'm going to do first is open this box, I don’t even need my knife. Okay, look at that. That looks so good. So now what I'm going to do is read the instructions on the box.

Now it’s giving me the option of microwaving and using the oven. I'm going to use the microwave because it’s a little bit easier. So what I'm going to do is remove the tray, I did that, pull back and the covers of the film to vent, done. Cook on high, five minutes. Okay so it has been in the microwave for about five minutes. I'm going to take it out and see what it looks like. Look at that, just hold this vent up here. So now I'm going to give it a taste. It’s got this really great sauce. That is good all-American real steak, just like mom used to make.

Let me try the side dish dip. We’ve bought two of these for six bucks and that’s going to feed us for two nights, two more and that’s 12 bucks, that’s four meals, $12.00. That’s pretty amazing and it comes in this really nice, handy dandy, easy to eat while in container. The preparation for this meal was so, so easy. We didn’t even use our knife or our cutting board. You couldn’t ask for something easier than that. If you don’t eat all of these, you want to store it in the fridge. Just throw it all together in some Tupperware. It doesn’t even matter.
