So let’s get started and you will see how I get most of my dessert done in about 10 seconds. I’m making an Applesauce granita with two cups of unsweetened apple sauce which I like because it keeps the dessert nice and refreshing. So I use unsweetened and just as squeeze a lot. Now a granita is just an Italian ice, it’s kind of like a sorbet but with more of a granular texture to it and we just mix this right up. I like to use Applesauce because it gives the granita a little bit of a creamy sort of thicken texture behind it and I think it’s down right delicious.
See we’re done, how easy was that it’s going in the freezer and we’ll check back in about an hour. Right now I’m just scraping up the granita that I made with the Applesauce and this is going to give it a nice icy texture and let me make some sauce to go with it which is right one to school. We love to have maple and apples together. So that’s what I’m doing today.
A little bit of yogurt about a half of cup and about a tablespoon of real maple syrup. You know if you don’t use real maple syrup a lot you can go ahead and buy the great B, I actually prefer the great B in each will work just great for your recipes and will cost you less and if you don’t have maple syrup then you can always use a little bit of honey. There we go perfect. A little bit of cinnamon about half a teaspoon and I’ll give this a mix. I’m going to go ahead and spoon some into this pretty little bullet and then I’m going to top it with my maple, cinnamon, yogurt sauce.
There you go just a little this on top; it’s going to be a perfect combination. Let me give it a try. It is light and fluffy not too sweet just perfect. My Applesauce Granita is a healthy refreshing treat that could have been simpler or more wallet friendly.
