Hey, welcome to WatchMojo.com. I’m your host Marissa. And today, I’m going to talk to you a little bit about what of the major religion of the world, that being Christianity which is based in the life and teachings of Jesus.
Now, with over two billion followers is the world’s largest religion as divided into three categories, Roman Catholic, Easter Orthodox and Protestant. The central teachings tell us that Jesus is the son of God and also the second person of the Holy Trinity. It also tell us that his life on earth, his death and his sanction are proof of God’s love and forgiveness of human sins, the first of which was created by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and we know as original sin.
The Nicene Creed which originated at the Councils of Nicaea and Constantinople plays a major role in Christianity. The purpose of the creed was to establish a confirmative belief. Now, some of the beliefs performed by creed are the trinity, Jesus has both God and man, the forgiveness of sins through baptism and origin birth resurrection, crucifixion, and a sanction of Jesus. Christianity has a long and complicated history which we won’t get it right now but we do know that it began the first century as a Jewish sec, as a result, it shares many religious text with Judaism and in particular Hebrew Bible which the Christian referred to as the Old Testament.
