Welcome to Growing Wisdom and our tips segment for the week and this week I am going to talk to you about Chocolate and Joe Pye Weed or a Chocolate Eupatorium. This is a wonderful plant. Why do I choose this plant as my tip for the week because it blooms in October and in October you have got Asters and you have got some Actaea. There are a few other things out there that are blooming Phalacrosis, there is Cocojams, but this particular plant blooms white and I love using white in the fall. The reason being is that there is so much other color going on. You got the red and the oranges and the yellows and still of course a lot of green and this really does pop in the garden. The other thing I love about this plant is that even before it flowers it has this wonderful purple stem and also the leaves have that sort of purple green color to them so this makes for a great plant all year long, not just when it flowering.
Again, it is chocolate Eupatorium. It grows to be about three and a half to four feet tall. It does get pretty big, it can flap over a little bit so put it somewhere where it will have a room to grow.
That is my tip for the week. Come back every week for all of our tips and all of our videos here at growingwisdom.com.
