(Image source: Sky News )   BY LOGAN TITTLE   New details in the southern Alabama hostage situation where a man is believed to be holed up with a kindergartener he kidnapped Tuesday.   “The details of this situation are limited at this time, but I can assure you that negotiators continued to communicate with the suspect at this time.” (via Sky News )   WSFA reports officers have been speaking with the suspect through PVC pipe and while little is known about the boy, a state representative told the media he has a medical condition.   Authorities successfully sent medication into the bunker, as well as coloring books and crayons Wednesday.   The suspect has been identified by locals as 65-year-old Jimmy Lee Dykes, a retired truck driver. He was reportedly due in court to face charges of menacing neighbors, but instead...   Authorities say Dykes boarded a bus Tuesday, demanding the driver release a student. When he refused, the 65-year-old shot the driver and took the child hostage in an underground bunker.   Neighbors say Dykes has a record of violent behavior.   One couple said Dykes threatened to shoot their children as they were attempting to retrieve their dog that got loose and ran into his yard.   And another neighbor told CNN Dykes had brutally beaten her dog after it crossed the street toward his property.   “He made it very clear as soon as he moved in that any animals or people that came onto his property would be killed.”   Police say they have no reason to believe the boy has been harmed and they are continuing to negotiate with Dykes Thursday morning.
