Akamai has launched a cloud-based transcoding service called Sola Vision.
In addition to transcoding files, the service provides stream packaging and security. Most of these solutions are managed by on-site by content providers, according to Stuart Cleary, Akamai's Director of Product for EMEA, in this interview with Beet.TV done at the IBC show last week.
