Connecticut food banks have an increased need for donated food or money this Thanksgiving because of Sandy's devastated romp through the state.
"We need turkeys desperately," said Kate Lombardo, executive director of The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.
Those who represent the food banks say that storm Sandy, which struck Connecticut two weeks ago, knocking out power to more than 458,000 utility customers and causing heavy damage to shoreline communities, has contributed to the crunch.
