Hey! Welcome to another exciting video tutorial. My name is Andrew Kramer and stays we can take a looking creating and destroyed planet like this. Now this tutorial is very similar to the blue planet tutorial or just can take it another direction? And so here are final look composite. Now if we have enough time, I would like to be all to do some more advances composing like this. But we know have the time so show cause, let us going get started what I am going to do is take our Venus material and drop into a new car.
And so this going to be out planet texture and what I am going to do is choose layer free compose? And we move on which do we call this and I will choose okay? There mean of ought to double click on a cope and it to brings up our actual free cope and there in my choose affect color correction you and saturation. And will bring the saturation down and the darkness down. Because this is want to be dead planet, and did we go back to main cope and there in many good affects your affects and free set on want to type and CC spear. And my drag that unto our free cope and other makes our nice planet and things are looking good.
Now on my duplicate the map and then I am in go into the light set up and many change the direction and the light height and maybe the intensity and then change the transfer mode it F4 to screen. And that way, we have sort of hour secondary light source. And were Redo will take hour space background and just drop down on there. And that thing are looking good now if I go back to our map, I also have this Venus bump map and what were going to use this for is a map to create our lava. So right now this map is actually to create about map in the 3D program but what were going to do is choose affect channel invert and then it choose affect color correction course.
So, I am can I connect crash it down so it just see a lava area. And then it choose affect color correction tent and will change the color to tent too, just sort in orange color. Now if we change the transfer mode here to screen angle back to our call. You can see were sorted getting want we want they were problem is the lava does not sand out and because lava is hot, it is actually self illuminates. So we want see the shadow with actually see just fright lava. So were going to do, just want to shut this of and study room go into the project were in it take the map composition right here or can choose edit duplicate. Then want to call this lava map and we go on open that up. Then will reverse this 2 layer return this want on, return this one off.
Now we do need the transparency so what we do is duplicate one of the layers and there we going to shut off the tent. So now we just have the black in out map and were going to set this layer that want to know neat that to aluminates and that way he uses the transparency of the aluminates to basically give our background since we cannot use your transfer modes in the free call.
Okay so now we have a lava map composition and we also have the planet map composition so. Then go back into our main cope and member one of this is for defuse and want to sort the highlight. I mean a duplicate this layer and put it on top, and I am going to do Dennis takes my lava map and hold down ought and drop it unto it. Okay so now we have the lava as a separate layer and you can see he transparency she is still there that we have a problem were rendering the front and back. And so we want to adjust render the outside rather than the inside and the outside. Because we do not want to say truth, we just want to render the top layer.
And we are going to shading and want to turn in be at all the way out say 200, and that way internal layers back on, that layers sorted is brighter the entire time. Now this point I am on a link coded rotation values together so bring up the CC spear come down same thing bring up the rotation for each of the affects and what when I do is link the Y rotation to the rotation of the top layer someone ought click on stop watch trying to pick with to the rotation Y and going to that for all of the layers here ought click and try to pick with.
So what is this thus basically links all this values to the one value on this layer. So if I rotate it all of the layers were rotate. So I just can see we have are nice fire looking up core and let us going clean this up a little bit so. When I do is take this layer and it choose affect stylize clue and just give us some nice fire regular and so just increase the radius am a little bit main bring intensity me down. And only thing we can do is take the bottom map and choose affect color correction curves. And just color correct the planet a little bit we have made it from my contrasted.
Now, if I go back into our lava map. I can also take our layer and give it say more of oranges color. So if I bring this down a little bit a changes the color, so the lava is a little bit more intense in scenarios. So not of we created this, I can also add the simple background glow my choosing affect stylize glow and change the alpha and change the good in the alpha channel and composite the regional on top. And basically what they says is the base the glow in the alpha channel which is sort of it transparency of the spear. And then composite the regional on top so that the glow becomes from behind it, and then if we change the color to oranges, red, and increase radius just a little bit we now create our planet.
Now our highlight area which would be this cope called this map highlight? Were a bright light up some in eternal light intensity up, now also good to shading in terms specula out. So I look pretty nice and now if we go to the rotation of the spear plug in, we can set a key frame and remove forward in time and just rotated a little bit. And so we just have a little bit off fire planet rotation. Now another thing we could do is create a sun, so if I took this map in duplicate it. I can move with over here. And then choose let say reset the curves, and then just blow out I can really make it bright same thing with the red channel just I want forward or English bright color. And we can move the light so that it. So the straight on and then if we take are glow, we can reset it. And then increase the radius and maybe they threshold them bring this channel little bit here is very good.
Now scale it down here and probably want to go into the shading and increase the ambient. And that way the glow it would not be so intense. And they we cannot glow on the outside by just duplicating this glow resetting it, changing it to alpha on top and then changing the color, to color similar to the edge. And then increasing the intensity and radius, so turn it change this coming on. Okay! What else can we possibly do? Can always do suited the light green from behind the planet now just it more the motion graphic thing but you know so I try to show you a few different things and so I will do this duplicate our planet. And then there is another plug in called CC radio blur, and actually your CC fast trail of blur if you drag that out. Little so create you know this school lights tricks and what we want to do is choose affect on same. And we going on a reset the color correction and on this want to can I create really contrasted image here and maybe get read off the shadow my increasing the ambient light there and we can bring the light intensity down.
And so now we can see there sort of is acts a light stream you know coming from behind the planet there and maybe change the transfer mode. Anyway just another option in other possibility for a creating more unique looking glow and they checking up the next tutorial were can actually blow this planet up and the other be lot of fun so. What were we going to do is render this out without any of the background and any of the glow? So any render that like this with the transparency and to do that we going to choose composition add to render queue and in the output settings, were we go in here and we were change the format quick time and they will click on format option and were going to change this to animation, and the deep to million of colors plus. And what that is can allow is to do is used the RGB plus alpha. So that we will bring to this in the transparency were already be apart of this file. And this is pretty much one of the ways I recommend outputting your video. As well as photo jpeg but photo jpeg does not support the transparency. Anyway choose okay and then render that out and they were important back in and get start on the next project but until then hope you guys found this tutorial useful and you know this planet of things you can do with this specially were creating is sifi movie. Okay well, my name is Andrew Kramer and will see next time.
