To set that, go ahead and click OK and you will see what we have now is a cursor that is loaded with text ready to drop down onto the page. Now even though we have this cursor we can still hold down the space bar to give us the hand tool and scroll around the page until we find maybe some guides and columns that make sense. But what this is doing is giving us a couple of options just as to how we import the type. What we could do is we could just click and drag with this tool to draw a new text frame with it and as soon as we let go, it will flow in that type in there using again our basic paragraph style. So that is one way of doing it. If we undo that, just Ctrl Z or command Z, the cursor comes back loaded. Another thing we can do is come over here and click directly on the text frame that we have inside this middle frame and as soon as we do that the text flows immediately inside it.
Now what we are going to do is another way of approaching this. That is a very handy one to drop it into type frames that already exists. Let us undo that again. The cursor does become loaded so what we are going to do is just hit the V key to take us out of the place to cursor mode and back to our selection tool. That effectively cancels the place altogether.
What we can do instead is if we select this text frame on its own once again use the new keyboard shortcut Alt Shift P to bring up the place dialog box and again choose the same file Brochure intro.doc. We can turn off the import options now because we have already told that we use our previous preset as a default, we can say open and that immediately flows in to that frame already formatted for us.
So that definitely proves the point you can either place and choose where on the page it goes if you have nothing selected or if we do have a text frame highlighted when we choose Place, the text will flow immediately into that location.
