What we are going to do is we need to add actually a couple of pages to this document. We only have four right now. So let us come back up to the pages palette for a second, you can see our original full pages here, is one very important thing we have bear in mind at this point.
For this particular document, for this particular training session, we did apply an option saying do not allow the pages to shuffle. Now, if you are doing the regular layout at anytime and you decided to add pages, normally, of you were shuffling the pages, it would generate a new spread. But just to show you that once you turn off the shuffle option, if we click here to create one and two new pages, you see as adding them both as right hand pages at this point purely because there is no overall control as to where the something is left or right hand page. Now we can manually move these pages around afterwards but we really do not want to do that at this point. We want In Design to make it a bit easier for us. So, you would not normally have this problem, it is just because of the type of design we are doing right now by specifying our first page to be a left instead of a right hand page, this is not going to work for us. A couple of ways we can get around that, we can just Undo, backwards twice, so we remove both of those pages, we could select our two original pages we have here, hold down the Alt key and drag a copy of them over here to the right to duplicate the spread. We currently have, you will see, that will give us pages 5 and 6 as a left and right spread but it also duplicates all of the elements on that page as well which in this case is the two text frames that are linked. So this one work just for this instance, so let us Undo that as well. The other way to do it which is ice and easy is simply to select both of this icons for the A and the right hand master page by Shift clicking on them and just drag those down here to make a brand new spread for 5 and 6, may as well do exactly the same to give us pages 7 and 8 as well.
So it now got another set of pages to work with. What we are going to do is jump across to page 5 now, so double click the icon for page 5, we have our standard 3 column layout over here and what we are going to do is see how we can do individual text frames and link them together across pages and first, what we are going to do is draw a darker color frame that goes behind them, much like the one we have on the first page of the document.
