Good news for creative professionals — on Sunday Adobe announced Creative Suite 6 and a variety of subscription options for its media software.

For an annual subscription of $50 per month , you can access and download any CS6 app. Adobe will also offer a $75 month-to-month sub, and a la carte subscriptions for individual programs.

Subscribers get cloud storage, file sharing and continuous updates from Adobe. The goal, according to Adobe’s Jeffrey Veen, is more productivity in more places.

“This is a way of connecting all of your devices and your work, and everything that you do, with all your applications so that you can do your work wherever you are.”

VentureBeat says this is a change of pace for Adobe . The products and services are improved; now it’s time to get them out there.

“…as Adobe admitted in its CS6 briefing, the company has more or less topped out when it comes to offering the optimum software for people to design and remain creative.”

Adobe hopes its subscription incentives will help curb illegal downloading . TechCrunch talked to Adobe’s senior marketing director Scott Morris.

“Photoshop, of course, is among the most pirated applications and while Morris stressed that the subscription service shouldn’t be seen solely as a way to combat piracy, he did acknowledge that it has the potential to help Adobe with its piracy problem.”

But Gizmodo wonders if the subscription model will work out in the long run .

“For just a little bit more than you’d pay for the Master Collection, you get a product with more tools, that’s always up to date, and never have to upgrade again. But of course, that means you’re essentially buying an entire new product line every year.”

Laptop Magazine points out your subscription license only extends to two machines and one OS.

“So if, say, you’re using a Windows computer at work and a Mac at home, you’ll need to get two separate subscriptions to get all your Adobe apps on both devices.”

Adobe hasn’t announced a release date for CS6, but the company says the new services will be available within 30 days.
