A Look Behind the Scenes of All My Children
Audra Lowe: ABC’s daytime drama All My Children recently made the move from the east coast to the west. Today, Better’s taking you back stage for a peek at their new studio and our tour guide is one of the show’s leading man. How lucky are we?
Walt Willey: Hi, I’m Walt Willey, Jackson Montgomery for All My Children. Welcome to Pine Valleys and All My Children’s new home in beautiful Southern California, the Andritas Studios in Los Angeles. Come on, I’ll give you a quick tour.
All right listen, we have to do this quick because it’s very rare I get a chair to myself because of the girls. This is where we do hair and make-up. This is where they glue my marking on and where they attach my toupee. So enjoy it because it won’t be long before somebody comes in.
Chrishell Stause: Hey Walt. I’m sorry but come on you’re having the chair. I need some make-up. You look pretty enough. Thank you.
Walt Willey: It’s interesting because I think I’ll move out here though what a shame to leave all the people behind that we’ve worked with for so many years. But I think it was kind of a naturally line of demarcation at a time where we’re now revitalizing the show, coming back to some of the values that worked for years and years that are so important keeping this medium fresh. I think we’re finally going back and taking some of the old stuff it’s what’s going o keep it fresh.
I’m going to take you into our new production control room. Since it looks like the bridge in the Enterprise. Take a peek.
The facilities are fabulous and I thank for the productions stuff. Their jobs have become a lot easier for an actor. We’re in basically the same four walls.
Erica and Jack have been carrying on for almost all the 23 years I’ve been on the show. It’s interesting because we’ve never really gotten to be a happy couple. Being a happy couple in daytime is kind of another way to spell death.
Well I’ve actually learned a lot from Jackson about paranoid children. I think Jack is a great dad. I’ve been kind of an absentee father in just that my family, like wife and kids leaving in Mexico and of course, I work in New York for years. Now I’m 5 hours closer that’s a lot better thing for all of us.
So thank you very much for joining for a little mini tour of All My Children. You keep watching weekdays on ABC, weeknights on Soap net. See you there.
Audra Lowe: Thanks a lot Walt and All My Children fans will be glad to hear that their beloved residence of Pine Valley. They’ve settled into their west coast home just perfectly.
