presided over the candlelight ceremony at Sanam Luang outside the Grand Palace in Bangkok. The country blessing of the King took place at 12:29GMT, the exact minute the King is blessed each year. After singing the Royal anthem, the Prime Minister shouted "Song Phra Charoen" ("Long live the King") and the crowd chanted in return.
