Guys complain that they interrupt the moment when it is time to put one on. They are uncomfortable to roll on and that they can not feel anything when they wear one. However, not only that they protect you from pregnancy, most condoms, if use consistently and correctly from start to finish, reduce the risk for contracting an STD.

There are three main materials that condoms are made of, latex, polyurethane, and lambskin. If a condom is not clearly marked, do not use it as it could be intended as a gag gift not for safer sex or birth control. Latex condoms are the most effective in preventing pregnancy and STD transmission. They are made from the sac of rubber trees and are available in array of sizes and textures. Some are marketed as lubricated with spermicide warming sensation, climax control and more. When wanting additional lube while using a latex condom, you need to use water-based products only, something like KY liquid or astroglide. Other products that contain oil like baby oil, body lotion, and petroleum jelly cause latex condoms to deteriorate and break.

Polyurethane condoms are best for people who are allergic to latex. They are non-pore risk so they protect you against pregnancy and reduce the risk of STDs. They are made from a synthetic plastic that is colorless and odorless and can be used with either water or oil-based loops. Polyurethane condoms are about half as thin as latex. They are stronger and warm to the body's temperature. The downside, they are bit noisy during the in and out.

Lambskin condoms are made from the intestinal lining of a lamb, providing a more natural feel during sex. They can be use with water or oil-based loops. However, they only protect against pregnancy, not STDs. They are pore risk and have microscopic holes that stop sperm however, infections like herpes and HIV can pass through.

Besides material, there are few other things to know about condoms. First, only one condom should be used at a time. No double bagging, as two condoms rubbing together is more likely to break. Second, some condoms are labeled spermicidally lubricated. This means they use spermicide called nonoxynol-9. The nonoxynol-9 often causes irritation and the amount on the condoms is basically too small to significantly lower your chance of getting pregnant. If you get irritated by nonoxynol-9, you use condoms that are labeled just lubricated instead.

Third, non lubricated condoms especially those that are flavored are great to use with oral sex. Blow jobs with condoms can feel just as good for him which he will only admit after the fuck and you can put your mind at ease knowing you are practicing safer sex. STDs can be transmitted just as easily through oral sex as they can through intercourse. For women, use dental dams that can be made by simply cutting the tip and rim of the condom and carefully cutting it lengthwise to form a rectangular shape.

Lastly, when condoms are used consistently and correctly, they are super effective. However, carnal mistake many people make is not smoothing the air before having sex. When air is trapped inside, it is a mini balloon and will inevitably break. To get rid of the air, pinch the tip and slide your hand down his shaft to the base to allow air to escape.

Take control of your sexual health by selecting condoms and lube you prefer and putting them on him which can be quite sexy. The more prepared you are, the more seamless using condoms can be and is safer the experience. Now that is hot sex.
