Great design meets the great outdoors. We’re creating amazing spaces, affordable ideas for spectacular outdoor rooms.
Hey you guys, Angelo here on a very hot and sunny patio that gets no use but check this out, when we’re done, it’s going to turn into a cool and breezy retreat. This patio size and view of the yard is the perfect place for a relaxing retreat but it’s just too hot. So here’s the plan, to cool things down, I’m going to add new life to the garden with cooling features. Then I’ll create a seating area in bright blues for a perfect place to rest and chill out and there’s much more so stick around and see how it all comes together.
Half our work is done for us because we have these amazing planters. But they’re empty right now, add in some color, some plants, some height and visual interest is really going to give us that cool and breezy outdoor feel plus adding a cool breezy blue stain on these planters will cool down the space. Blue is a fantastic color choice when you’re thinking about visually cooling down a space. It’s like a soothing day at the beach, plus paint is one of the least expensive ways to change a look.
Maybe space them out a little bit and next large plants add visual interest and a lushness that makes this space feel more like a retreat. We are all about cooling down this incredibly hot patio and a water feature like this does the trick. It’s beautiful. It’s a fantastic focal point and listen to that water, it’s so soothing. The water feature goes in the open space next to the planters. This is a really large fountain and your eye will be drawn right to it making it a natural focal point plus the sound of the running water and the look of the adjacent garden create a cool and calming mood.
Choosing furniture for your patio is all about the deciding style, function, and taking to account how much space you actually have. Too small of a patio for a dining area, so this is all about lounging. Two loungers that are totally comfortable and the color and lines completely speak the breezy island vibe. To get the ultimate cool down for this outdoor room, bring on the umbrella. This one is big and bold with festive colors and matching hanging lanterns. They’re casual, relaxing and they fit perfectly with our retreat theme. Now for the details, a vase full of flowers is not just for your dining table indoors. Bring it out, bring the inside out and make a seamless space and of course a cool drink to cool off a sunny warm day.
Isn’t it amazing how a few simple splashes of color, a little bit of planting and a really cool soothing fountain turns a hot, unusable patio into a cool oasis, it’s the perfect retreat. Now if someone could grab me a cold drink, I think we’re good to go.
