VIDEO DESCRIPTION:

About 3,000 workers marched along Manila's main avenues on Tuesday (May 1) to mark Labour Day. Protesters from various labour groups carried placards and banners demanding fair labour conditions and respect for workers' rights. They pressed for a 125 pesos (2.9 U.S. dollars) across-the-board wage increase. The minimum daily wage in Manila was last raised in May last year, bringing minimum daily wages to around 426 pesos (9.8 U.S. dollars).
