2012 Volkswagen Eos
Hi, I'm Kelsey Mays for cars.com. Here on the eve of the 2011 Los Angeles auto show checking out the restyled 2012 Volkswagen EOS. This is Volkswagen hardtop 4C convertible. It will show you what's new for 2012.
The longer you have these plunging grille, the of sort of united the grille on the front air dam, this is the new sort of face of Volkswagen. You’ve seen it on other cars here and it's got these three sort of black flat here and a very distinct different lower air dam. It’s a more masculine look and Volkswagen perfected it. It's going to attract more male buyers perhaps of this car which has been overwhelmingly female with its buyer base.
The headlight, traditional halogen lights right here, now in some of the photos of this car we've seen they have LED light that kind of encircle the head light. That’s just on the European model. On the U.S. model, you just going to have halogen although I talked to a product planner and they said that they're going to kind of fill out the waters and that people really want LEDs, so bring them here too.
Not a lot of change about the interior. You’ve got a new sun reflective leather, new steering wheel and new climate controls; overall, it stays pretty much the same. The five-speed convertible hardtop, now that works in about 25 seconds Volkswagen folks and it's got this kind a cool sunroof features that can also be moved back, however buying is pretty good about 10 and a half cubic feet with the top up. That’s more than bigger seeming cars like the Ford Mustang convertible. Speaking of which, this car does look more masculine. It does exactly look like the new Mustang but it certainly seems to be ready to attract more male buyers which is what Volkswagen aims to do. Check it out when it comes to dealers in February.
