LA Auto Show: 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid and SX Turbo
Hey what's up guys this is Antoine Goodman with cnet.com on the floor of the 2010 LA auto show taking a very quick look at the newest vehicle from Kia. Now this is the Optima Hybrid. Underneath the hood there is the modified version of Kia’s 2.4 liter gas in direct injection and that’s paired two an electric power train. That’s going to give this car somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 miles per gallon CD, it’s the 40 miles per gallon highway. I'm not really sure what the CD is just yet that uses a -- that’s supposed to be in lighter than the Camaro Hybrid with which this vehicle will compete. And the electric :41 is supposed to allow it, so all the way up to about -- they said 62 miles per hour on pure electric energy. That’s going to make some for some pretty interesting competition with what's going on in Toyota’s camp, of course they got some pretty neat looking styling here with a very angular front end. And step over here a little bit further, we’ll look at the opposite end of the spectrum. This is the Kia optima x turbo, now underneath its hood, its going to be a turbo charge, two litter gasoline direct injection engine that’s supposed to make this a really hot to try at little car, and I think this is suppose to also go on sale along hybrid sometime early next year. So look for more details although both of these cars Kia at the car-tech blog at cnet.com, so this is Antoine Goodman with cnet.com stay tuned for more information, cars, photos, details and all that from the 2010 LA auto show.
