Audra: For the first time ever, the Family Circle of Excellence Awards were featured in the magazine’s April 17th issue. The awards go to food, beauty, and household products that wow the magazine editors so much. They then sent the products real moms to test. So that means the awards are editor recommended and mom approved. Regina Ragone, Family Circle’s food director is here. And Linda Moran Evans, the magazine’s fashion and beauty director. They got some of the results of the survey that you guys took. So you tested all these stuff out, this is a huge undertaking.
Regina: Right, and we're so happy that readers really like a lot of the stuff that we like. So one of the first things I'm going to show you is one of our test kitchen’s favorites, this pie crust. They're ready made, you never have to make a pie crust again. And they look fantastic. They're about $3, so easy and our readers said they would never make a pie crust again. Love them. And we've been using these a while. They're not new products, but we've love them and our readers love them now too.
Audra: Okay.
Regina: This tea sandwich, Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches. Again, so many people at the studio said they love these. They're about $5.50 but you get 6 sandwiches. There are 140 calories in there. Nice portion controlled ice cream sandwiches. Love them, readers love them now too.
Audra: Okay.
I can see why you guys like them in the office too. And last but not least?
Regina: And these are Sandwich Thins and they are 100 calories. They're great for hamburgers. They're whole grain, pizzas. Again, readers thought they were great for kids for sandwiches.
Audra: Okay, so now we've covered the food section here. Linda you also took care of beauty products.
Linda: Right. Yes. The Garnier nutritioning skin renew anti pop eye roller, our readers absolutely fell in love with. Because it was so easy to use and it reduce the bags under their eyes.
Audra: Actually does work, right?
Linda: Absolutely.
Audra: Okay, and then this next product over here. You guys like because it sun block spray, right?
Linda: It is a sun block spray. Aveeno continuous protective SPF 50, which is really incredible. The readers all love the fact at how easy it was to use. And also that it’s waterproof.
Audra: Wow.
Linda: So, it’s really great. And this Olay regenerates 14 day skin intervention, it really is an intervention for your skin. First week you use one group and the second week you use the second. The first week you kind of rubs up your cellular system and the second week, it builds in little wrinkles.
Audra: Oh my God.
Linda: So they love how this work.
Audra: Okay, last but not least, we have the cleaning products over here. So what made this such a high priority for you guys and for the readers?
Regina: Well a lot of them do more than one thing. So for example, those surface cleaners by Method. They smell great, they're grape fruit. But you can clean all surfaces in the house. And they're so easy to use.
Audra: Okay, not just one area.
Regina: Right. The next thing are the 3 in 1 Purex. They're cloth that have three pieces of them. They have detergent, they have softener.
Audra: Okay, sounds good, and last but the least. I love these.
Regina: These erasers, they're great. They can be use all over the house. So you can use them for all different parts and they're very inexpensive. Under $5. That’s another thing, price. And they we're great for what they did.
Audra: A lot of people look at that particular characteristic too.
