Last weekend's box office leader, "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," fought its way into a virtual tie with animated Stone Age comedy "The Croods," now in its third week in theaters, with each taking in 21.1 million, according to estimates from Hollywood.com's box office division. Hollywood star Robert Downey Jr. attended the world premiere of his film Iron Man 3 in Beijing on Saturday (April 6). Downey walked the red carpet in a hall connected to the Forbidden City, the vast former residence of China's emperors. Two Republican members of Congress have asked the U.S. Treasury Department for information on what type of license American pop star Beyonce and rapper husband Jay Z obtained for a high-profile trip to Cuba to celebrate their wedding anniversary. In Washington this week, the State Department said it had no prior knowledge of the visit. A spokeswoman said that if the celebrity couple failed to obtain a license for their trip, they could be exposed to a fine. A number of highly sought after Hollywood memorabilia went on the auction block this weekend.
