Lawyers for the man claiming to be “Victim 2” in the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse trial has stepped forward to announce he’s suing Penn State for quote “egregious and reckless conduct.”
Those lawyers released recordings of voicemails they say Sandusky left their unnamed client, who’s now reported to be in his 20s, last year. WJXT and WSVN have the audio.
“I was just calling to see whether you had any interest in going to a Penn State game this Thursday. … Give me a call, and I’ll talk to you later. Thanks. I love you.”
“I will be firm and express my feelings and up front. But, and you know well is nothing to hide so.”
Mike McQueary testified at trial that when he was a graduate assistant, he saw Sandusky in a quote “extremely sexual” situation with Victim 2, and that he had heard quote “rhythmic slapping sounds.”
Sandusky was found guilty of 45 counts of child sex abuse a little more than a month ago. Victim 2, whose name hasn’t been officially released,
says the voicemails are from September 2011, about two months before the former coach was arrested. WPMT has more .
“While victim number two did not participate in the criminal charges against Sandusky his attorneys say they are filing a civil lawsuit against Penn State University, and that they released these voicemails in response to several inquiries from the media.”
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer , the group representing Victim 2 is also representing Victims 3, 7 and 10, as well as Matt Sandusky, the former coach’s adopted son who recently allegedly publicly that he was also sexually abused by Sandusky.
Penn State’s Board of Trustees have confirmed civil lawsuits have been filed against the university, and released a statement saying their goal is to quote “find solutions that rest on the principle of justice for the victims.” The NCAA recently fined the university $60 million in the wake of the scandal.
