Make your own tortilla soup so you can control the heat from the peppers.
Hot and Spicy Tortilla Soup
Female: I'm going ahead and get my pan started because we got some chopping to do, and might as well give them an oil bath while I'm back here, I need about two table spoons of olive oil just enough to cover the bottom, move it around a little bit, okay. So then go ahead and get started on one yellow bell pepper.
Male: I got one onion going. So I got one onion you're going to sauté in the oil that Gina has already has prepare so I'm just going to take this back and dump it.
Female: Everything that will use in today has a little color and a lot of kick to it. But I'm going to tell you one thing, you put the jalapenos there don’t put so much, that’s a good thing about making your tortilla soup at home because you get can't control the heat. Because sometimes and you eat that is too hot but at home we have a control over that.
Male: We are rocking and rolling with these jalapenos a day I we're baby—
Female: We sure are, so then I come on back and add—let me see.
Male: I just added one jalapeno.
Female: Okay.
Male: Alright, so you just don’t go.
Female: Yeah, and you can bring the rest of the goodies, we are going to le this sauté okay. There and let’s add some pepper, okay so we're going to add a half of tea spoon of cumin, it will help all the flavors married together. Then add the chicken broth. Okay, we're going to add in 32 ounces of this the whole box.
Male: I got tomatoes alright. Just put this right there.
Female: The nice color.
Male: Oh.
Female: It’s flashing over here shake your boom-boom, that is beautiful, so now you got the corn ready for me?
Male: I got your corn sweetie, I got one cup of frozen corn it’s been fold I had my way of probably be a cup and a half, I love corn.
Female: And this is nice and sweet with this isn't it?
Male: It is, I got a quarter cup of chops cilantro.
Female: Thank you.
Male: And there you go honey. And you know we got have a little meat, so I got 12 ounces of skinless boneless chicken breast, and I'm just going to cut this babies, I got your chicken and we just go on right in that I have cut and bite sauce pieces.
Female: Oh, that is good because that help it cook evenly and quicker too—it is going to sit here for 10 minutes and it will be good to go.
I’m topping it with crust and tortilla chips shred it marinate that cheese a dollop of sour cream, make it pretty, cilantro and a lime wedge.
