How to Match Make Up Shade to Hair Color

Rhiannon Ally: Now, if you have been shopping lately, you know the season is all
about color. The blues, the purples, the yellows, you name it. And
Jill Kirsh a.k.a. Hollywood’s Guru of Hue, she is here to show us
how everyone can wear any color. The key is just discovering the
best shade that will make you pop.

Jill Kirsh: Amazing, I never knew that, who knew.

Rhiannon Ally: Now, what I love about this is you created a whole do it yourself
plan. So, even I can decide which shade is best for me.

Jill Kirsh: Absolutely, we just launch this online and you can go and find
exactly what shades for clothing. From everything from tees and
jeans to formal and for makeup that is going to work for you. All
base around your hair color.

Rhiannon Ally: That is amazing. Let’s go through each of your kits that you have
designed specifically for each hair color.

Jill Kirsh: So, we will start over here. So, this is a kit that would be for ash
blondes or gray haired women like Helen Mirren who looks
knocks you out the park everytime.

Rhiannon Ally: She looks amazing.

Jill Kirsh: So, the dusty grays, the lavenders, the dusty pinks, those kind of
colors work really well for her, then you move over to here, this is
fabulous for Courtney Cox since she has the dark, the black hair,
she is a brunette right. So, all of these shades the really jewel tones,
that very clear true colors will work for her. And then I
coordinated the makeup to make it all work together.

Rhiannon Ally: So, you have a home makeup kit that you can wear with the actual
outfit?

Jill Kirsh: I do and a swatch book that is made up of every single shade at
every color that they can wear. And you take that as a guide to the
store and you match up all your stuff.

Rhiannon Ally: Now, why can’t Courtney Cox wear the same thing as Helen
Mirren?

Jill Kirsh: Because it will totally wash her out, that is such a good question.
Of course she has the very dark hair as I do and these really dusty
pastels will wash someone out. It is not enough so what people are
trying to do is compensate with more makeup and trying and
efforting and you don’t have to do that because the truth is when
you’re wearing all the right shades of color, you don’t even need
the makeup. The makeup just makes it more fabulous, you know?

Rhiannon Ally: Perfect, the next one we have is for redheads.

Jill Kirsh: Exactly, redheads and golden browns like these would be perfect
for you.

With Julia Roberts or Julianne Moore, fabulous redheads, so you
have a lot of the earth tones, the really warm browns, the tills, the
olivey greens. And it’s even white so someone over here would
wear more of like a champagney whites sort of looking for a dress
for a wedding instead of going to a stock white, they want to go to
warmer champagne kind of white.

Rhiannon Ally: Well, all of these colors are beautiful. I am happy to see purples on
here my favorite color.

Jill Kirsh: Yes, you can wear purple but totally different shades than anyone
else.

Rhiannon Ally: So, this last one over here is for blondes?

Jill Kirsh: Yes, this is for like warm blondes like Kate Hudson, so you get
like for the neutral colors. The camels, the corals which are huge
right now, all of these kinds of colors work really well for someone
in that color.

Rhiannon Ally: It is really nice to know that anyone can wear any shade of color
because I have always thought that I couldn’t wear orange and
looking at this and see there are some fabulous shades.

Jill Kirsh: Yeah. A lot of the burnt oranges, the really warm burnt oranges as
suppose to someone over here who actually has one orange, you
have a bun.

Rhiannon Ally: Let’s show a couple of celebs from the Academy Awards and they
kind of flag it up a little bit.

Jill Kirsh: Well, we kind of played with this a little because you are talking
about women that have the pick of whatever they want. And the
most beautiful women on the planet and our first female best
director who is an absolutely gorgeous woman—

Rhiannon Ally: Beautiful Kathryn Bigelow.

Jill Kirsh: And fabulous body for clothes chose something that she looked
okay.

Rhiannon Ally: The style was nice.

Jill Kirsh: The style was incredible but we kind of played with it and
Photoshop did a tad and put her in a color. Same dress and all we
do was change the color of the dress.

Rhiannon Ally: What a difference that makes. Let’s move on Anna Kendrick who
is gorgeous. She’s so lovely.

Jill Kirsh: Absolutely and she always looks nice and her dress was to die for.
Her dress is incredible except the color not so much for her. So, we
Photoshop that dress into more of like a magenta which pops her
face.

Rhiannon Ally: She looks beautiful and just quickly can we show J. Lo and Demi.

Jill Kirsh: Yes, who absolutely looked great except we tweaked the dresses a
little bit to make them look even ultra great.

Rhiannon Ally: Yeah they look beautiful. Thank you so much, they just pop that
