Mother's Day Makeover Tips
Rhiannon Ally: Sometimes moms are so busy, too busy to get ready for reunion. That’s for sure. Wearing makeup becomes more of a chore than anything else. So we think moms should shine. We have a makeup pro show us how we can look above and beyond at any age.
Kern Robinovitz: Hi, I'm Karen from Purple Lab. My mission today is three moms, three ages, and three different looks. Let’s see how it's done. So, moms in their 30s, they don’t have a lot of time. You have young kids especially if you have more than one kid, makeup is the last thing on your mind. So what you want are double duty products that you can use in multiple ways because you want to save time but you still want to look fresh. You don’t want to look as tired as you really are.
So the trick is a really great blush. Now the double duty factor, you take the same cream blush and then I'm just going to swipe it as an eye shadow. Again, with mom in their 30s, not much time. They’re not sitting in front of the mirror forever. I'm only going to do one coat of mascara and I'm going to keep it at the top like kind of a little heavier at the top and then a quick sweep across the bottom. That will make her eyes just stand out a little more.
I'm going to do one shade of Huge Lips, Skinny Hips in goji berry smoothie which is a really beautiful light berry. It will kind of bring out the highlights of her natural lip shade and work with a clean palette we’ve just created.
When you're in your 40s, your kids are a little older so you have more time to play with makeup and you really want to update your look and feel fresh. I suggest that going with products that are sophisticated but also playful at the same time. Also look for products that have a subtle shine. You don’t want to be too shiny because you don’t want to look like a teenager, but the subtle shine will really bring out and highlight your best features. There we have it.
The moms and women in their 60s, they’re really focused on anti- aging. Lip plumpers will really fill out those fine lines and wrinkles around the lips. As you get older, you lose some of that natural collagen. Highlighter is a great way to accentuate an area and draw attention to something. By putting the highlighter here, you take away from the look of the crow’s feet out here. So this mothers day, just remember no matter what your age, feel fabulous inside and out.
