Learn how to add Slides in a Microsoft Office PowerPoint Presentation.
In the first slide, we should have something that discusses what type of restaurant Vegetarian Villa is. We can do this pretty easily with just the basic bulleted slide. So, go to the Home tab and click the bottom half of the new slide button, this displays the slide layout gallery and we can choose the type of layout we want to use for our basic bulleted slide. Title and content generally fits that though.
If we wanted to apply a different layout to this slide, say I click the wrong one, I can actually just click the layout button on the Home tab and choose a different type of layout. We really do just of one a title and content layout so we will go back to that.
So again, just click and type to add text. You do not have to worry too much about formatting right now because we will go back and format later. Also, since you are using these slide place holders, most of the formatting will be taken care of for you automatically. Click and type in the title, the slide title will be about Vegetarian Villa and then click and type in the text box. Press Enter when you get to the end of the line that moves you to the next line. If you press tab, this will demote the text and create a secondary leveled bullet. So, I will add the rest of our text now, press Enter and now you can see you stay on the same level that you were on, press Enter again. Pressing Tab here will indent to text here again, press Enter.
Now I can press Shift-Tab to promote the text or un-indent it and if I press Shift-Tab again, you will see I get back to the top level bullet, press Enter and then Tab. See you can actually navigate through and type your text using strictly your keyboard if you want. If you prefer to use the ribbon, you can use the tools here are at the top, decrease list level, increase list level and this will promote and demote your text,.
Now, the first thing we are going to talk about in our presentation is location and demographics. So, we will add a section header slide for that piece of the presentation and to do that, remember you click the new slide button. Now, one thing to know, if you click the top of the new slide button, you automatically get a new slide without getting the slide layout gallery. If you add a new slide automatically like this, the layout is based on the layout from the slide before it. If you want to change the layout of any of the slides that you added, just like we did before, click layout and in this case, we want a section header, so we will choose section header and you can see the layout changes to match our needs. So, we will fill in the title for the section header which is of course location and demographics.
