There are nine million people in a city full of historical landmarks. Many of which can be viewed from a cruise on the River Thames. Westminster Abbey has been used for the coronations since the year 1308.

The houses of parliament, Big Ben, the Egyptian Obelisk and Buckingham palace continue to be on every tourist’s itinerary. There is a fascination with Kensington Palace where flowers are still placed for the late Princess Diana.

Harrods is a famous department store with price tags just as fancy. Double-decker buses and bright red phone booths are the city’s trademarks. The memorabilia of the royal family is everywhere including the recognizable uniform of the horse guards. There are many popular meeting points of London; but, none more so than Piccadilly Circus, a dynamic area of people, traffic, color, and noise. Artists and buskers share center stage, hoping to be the next discovery.

This is a very busy area, within a short walking distance from network of eateries and popular nightspots. London comes alive at night when it seems like very tourist in the country is looking for action. There is free entertainment in pedestrian areas and the best in live theater. Some restaurants offer a memorable view of the London Bridge against the romantic midnight sky.
